HoneycombSeal for Gas Turbine
The honeycomb seal for gas turbine is an abradableseal part, which is used for sealing of the turbine part and thecompressor part of the gas turbine. During operation, the labyrinth are cutinto the abradable honeycomb seal by abrasion, thereby reducing the gap level thatis difficult to be achieved by other methods to reduce the amount of airleakage.
The performance improvement of using the honeycomb compound ring in the 2nd and3rd stages of GE's new E-CLASS (61A/B) gas turbine:
Stage 2: output increases by 0.35%; heat ratio decreases by 0.35%
Stage 3: output increases by 0.25%; heat ratio decreases by 0.25% -
